Capacity: 1,200 reception

Combine the space of the museum, exhibit floor and Plaza Terrace and you get an entertainment area that can accommodate up to 1,200 guests. Enjoy the view of downtown Columbus from the Plaza Level and tour the latest featured exhibits on the museum floor.

Contemporary in design, the auditorium is used for meetings, seminars and presentations. The room features a stage, podium with microphone and comfortable seating. Additional audiovisual equipment available with on-site technical support.

Capacity: 400 sit-down; 500 stand-up

The second level of the center provides a unique setting for Meetings. Surrounded by windows that afford an excellent view of the Columbus skyline, the Plaza Terrace can be set with a cocktail bar and food tables. Round Tables and chairs for 120 people are included in rate. Space is only available during non-public hours for meetings.

Capacity: 80-160 sit-down; 300 stand-up

This area is located in the center of the museum exhibit floor, directly beneath the Plaza Terrace. The Red Carpet Area can be used for small sit-down dinners, upscale corporate cocktail parties or in combination with events held on the Plaza Terrace to create a dramatic multi-level event. The museum collections encircling the Red Carpet Area make it a highly desirable space that adds distinction to any event.

The Cardinal Classroom is a private, fully A/V equipped room perfect for presentations, lectures or luncheons. It is located on our third floor which is accessed by elevator, and next to the Ladybug Conference Room. Rental includes 6 foot tables and chairs to seat 78 guests classroom styles, and 100 chairs theater style.

This conference room is located on the third floor of the Ohio History Center across from the Archives & Library. This room is furnished with comfortable cushioned chairs and portable conference tables. It comes equipped with a dry-erase board and free wi-fi. A/V eqipment is available upon request.

The outdoor amphitheater space is located between the Ohio History Center and Ohio Village. The park area features a stage, located underneath the bridge, with A/V capabilities. The Teacher's Park is an ideal location for an outdoor concert or picnic activities.

The entire Ohio Village complex can be made available to corporate groups and organizations for exclusive events. Clients may elect to open all of the buildings or choose their favorites from a list of options for an additional costs. In addition, there's the baseball field for various recreational activities, a sitting park and various gardens for strolling, relaxing and enjoying the village atmosphere.

The Ohio Village Church provides a dramatic setting for private weddings, lectures and performances. Inside the Gothic-style structure is a sanctuary, vestibule and ladies parlors fashioned after a typical church of the period. The balcony containing two sections of pews seating 80 peoples extends overhead from the sanctuary's entrance. The church may be booked in combination with the American House Hotel from small receptions or the Ohio History Center for large receptions.

The American House Hotel is two areas in one. The American House Victorian Dining Room is the older section of the inn. Decorated to accurately reflect the 1890s time period of Ohio Village, this section also features the American House Hotel Tavern, the hotel office and lobby area. Intimate dining and private receptions are offered here, as well as business meetings and small corporate gatherings. Add the adjoining Tavern for complete bar service. Tables and chairs are included in the rate.

A fireplace serves as the focal point for this 1890s dining area. Larger and more rustic in appearance than the American House’s more intimate dining facilities, the traditionally decorated dining room is a popular place for meetings, dinners, banquets, parties and receptions. Tables and chairs are included in the rate.

Capacity: 90 lecture; 200 stand-up

One of the largest buildings in Ohio Village, the Town Hall offers a unique setting for lectures, performances and business meetings. A small stage is located in the front of the room, and Hitchcock-style chairs can be arranged in a variety of ways. The Town Hall may be booked in combination with the American House Hotel, or individually. Eighty Hitchcock-style chairs are included in the rate.

The Village Green offers a large, open expanse in the heart of the Ohio Village complex. Surrounded by interpretive buildings on all sides, the green is popular for summer picnics and outdoor receptions. An open-sided pavilion adjoins the green, providing a sheltered site for food tables and bar setup. Can be rented separately.

Wrought iron tables and chairs under a trellis-work canopy are featured in the garden area. The garden provides a captivating backdrop for breakfasts, picnic lunches, teas or early evening suppers. The garden area may also be combined with the hotel's two dining rooms for unique outdoor receptions/indoor repast combinations. Provisions for indoor use or alternate plans should be made in case of inclement weather. The Ohio History Center also welcomes award dinners, graduations, birthday parties, simple cocktail receptions and picnics.
